In academics and in leadership, Nicole Emellie Yu is deemed exceptional.
Yu is a popular figure in Far Eastern University (FEU). She is known, not only for her impressive aptitude, but also for her strong desire to serve the student body and to empower the youth.
Currently a 4th year student of Business Administration Major in Internal Auditing, Yu continues to build a towering heap of achievements. Despite the level of difficulty of her degree, this lady still manages to be the one of the top students of her batch and a consistent academic scholar of the university.
In 2014, she became part of the Aboitiz College Scholarship Program (ACSP), a prestigious nationwide program that covers applicants’ school fees and provides invaluable learning opportunities with the illustrious Aboitiz Group.
Yu is not only an academic achiever, she is also a youth advocate and leader as she continually participates in extracurricular activities and advocacy-based pursuits.
In 2013, she worked as a student disk jockey for the country’s local radio station Monster RX93.1 and even became a student ambassador for four years for TicketWorld, the largest ticketing industry in the archipelago.
In 2014, for two years, she became a contributing writer for the Manila Bulletin, which is the country’s oldest print company. She also became a Google student ambassador for the Southeast Asia Summit, organizing technology-centered events and strengthening electronic literacy among the youth. In the same year, Yu also represented FEU in the Season 77 of the UAAP (University Athletic Association of the Philippines) as a courtside reporter for the basketball and volleyball games.
Through the constant support of her own school, in 2015, Yu immersed herself in activities, conferences and delegations that further sharpened her leadership skills. She was part of the much-anticipated Ayala Young Leaders’ Congress (AYLC), which involves plenary talks, group discussions and outdoor challenges with other outstanding student leaders from different places in the country.
Yu also attended the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations, one of the largest conferences participated by students, politicians, business people and academicians with the aim of underscoring international issues.
Wanting to adapt a more global mindset of a leader, Yu joined the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Youth Camp, which is a grand event in Asia-Pacific region that aims to expose individuals to cultures and traditions of each nation.
Fueled to impart the knowledge she has accumulated over the years, Yu ran in the campus elections and won the post as the Public Relations Officer at FEU Central Student Organization, the highest chamber of student officers in FEU, for the academic year 2016-2017. Broadening her field of expertise, in the same year, she was chosen a trainee for Mark Prof’s Marketing and Sales Leadership Boot Camp, a free-of-charge training with the country’s most outstanding entrepreneurs and most skilled professionals. Yu was also selected as a delegate for the Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit, which aims to reinforce business standards and instill leadership values to a qualified pool of undergraduate students.
Yu is continuously revered the entire FEU community because of her remarkable feats as she becomes the embodiment of the school’s core values - fortitude, excellence and uprightness. And as she sets foot to a foreign land as a Fulbright scholar in the University of Mississippi, FEU extends their pride and salutation to this dedicated young leader with a great vision.
