In line with the events for the foundation week, the Far Eastern University Central Student Organization (FEU CSO) and the Far Eastern University Film Society (FEU Film Soc ) hosted the first ever Cinema Al Fresco which uncloaked a marathon of short films produced by different Tamaraw Filmmakers with free admission last January 17 and 18, 2017 at the Far Eastern University Plaza (FEU Plaza) from 6:00pm-9:00pm. Cinema Al Fresco aims to promote the award winning movies made from the brilliant minds of our very own Tamaraw pride that will give an inspiration and a lesson lingering to the hearts of the FEU Community.
During the first night, the movies enjoyed by the FEU students were the following: Rommel Ruiz's "Sinadya kong kalimutan para maulit ang lahat" which bagged the Best Film (Gawad CCP 2016), Richmond Cadsawan's "Me, myself and Peregrine" that won the Best Film (Precious Pelikula), Bobby Pagotan's award winning "Manibela" which bagged the Most Gender Sensitive Award (MMFF New Wave Student Short Film), Gladys Cristobal's "In-Idol" that received numerous awards such as Best Musical Score (SinePiyu Film Festival 2012) and Best Sound (3rd Black Barong Film Festival) and lastly, Christian Babista's "Tagimpan".
On the last day of the film showing, Yeshanne Burce's award winning "Keep Right" that won several recognitions such as Best Screenplay (Sinepiyu 2014 Director's Showcase Category) Second Best Film (Sinepiyu 2014 Director's Showcase Category), Best Sound Design (Sinepiyu 2014 Director's Showcase Category), together with Raf Evangelista's "Apuhap" which bagged the Best Short Film (Sinag Maynila 2016), Best Cinematography (Sinepiyu 2016), Ralph Galua's "Hakbang" that won the Best Picture, Best Direction and Musical Score honors (Black Barong Film Festival), Best Film and Best Director (5th CinePambata Video Festival) and Richmond Cadsawan's "Me, Myself and Peregrine" were aired.
The said film show received a number of positive feedbacks from the film viewers.
