Far Eastern University (FEU) Central Student Organization (CSO) held its first general assembly entitled "IGNITE: The 2016 FEUCSO General Assembly" last Thursday, September 15.
This is to welcome the 165 qualified applicants for the Executive Committee of the 'Highest Student Governing and Legislative Body' of the 'Green and Gold' University.
FEUCSO President Romel Bernardo gave the opening remarks to ignite the 'Passion for Leadership and Commitment for Service' of the Batch 81 Executives.
On the other hand, FEUCSO Presidential Chief of Staff Jei Cauzon gave a run-through of the organization's rich history since it was established in 1935. He also highlighted some of the organization's past presidents such as the late former Foreign Affairs Minister Manuel Collantes and former Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban.
Cauzon also explained the organizational structure, functions, duties and responsibilities, office rules and regulations, and the routine events and projects.
FEU Communication alumna Ronalyn Pordan, who graduated magna cum laude, became the resource speaker of the gathering.
To inspire the new members of the organization, the former FEUCSO secretary shared some of her 'bubog' in life—the term she used to refer to her struggles before living a life of success.
Pordan was awarded as one of The Outstanding Senior Students of FEU, and is now a national finalist at the 2016 Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines.
She reminded the new breed of Executives to become 'servant leaders' inside and outside the University before she led in reading the 'Oath of Service and Commitment'.
A 'family picture' was taken at the FEU Grandstand to cap off the event.
